Bankruptcy Lawyers

Bankruptcy lawyers – It is really important to choose the right one. In cases where a debtor is brought to court for bankruptcy, there is no doubt of the necessity of getting a good bankruptcy lawyer to defend you. Otherwise, the chances of a grueling cross-examination, or worse, a contempt charge in court is greater.

I already have a bankruptcy lawyer in place

If you have already decided on getting a good bankruptcy lawyer, then the next question that arises is: “Will the cost be too high?” But put all those worries to rest, as there are available options out there. One is getting hold of a none profit organization, which can provide you with legal advice without any fee at all. Some of these organizations can even be reached through email or a phone call.

While the causes for insolvency may be wide ranging, from the economic crisis or an expensive lifestyle, it can be easily addressed in a variety of ways. The least recommended way to address insolvency is the filing of bankruptcy in a court of law. But if that is the only recourse left, it is best to be armed with a good support team of bankruptcy lawyers or attorneys.

You can hire the right bankruptcy lawyers anytime at a very economical rate. Just follow these simple tips.

One of the best ways is to research about it. There are various search tools that can help you find out about lawyers specializing on bankruptcy cases. You can find them at any directory of bankruptcy lawyers that have their offices in the same locality. Or you can search for them on the Internet directories. But extra care is needed when looking at the Internet, as there might be bogus experts online.

Another alternative is to conduct personal observations regarding the company that you are about to engage to help you in bankruptcy matters. It is important to look at the human resources as well as their customers. When visiting the office, you can their customer relations as well as any feedback from their clients by personally taking notes about the company.

It is likewise important to inquire about the expertise and individual qualifications of the team of bankruptcy professionals assisting you. These can be done through an interview with the prospective lawyers and attorneys as well accountants.

Most experts will also advise you to make an inquiry into the close relatives and the lifestyle of the attorney(s). This is crucial in determining how competent is the lawyer in protecting his relatives from getting charged in court for any debt incurred. The lifestyle of the bankruptcy professionals is an important matter as well. If the personal background of the attorney is questionable then this can influence your professional engagement.

From all these, it can be gleaned that cost is not an important factor in getting the right bankruptcy lawyer. But these are essentially the only clear indicators of successfully finding the right bankruptcy lawyer for you. This is because the cost of professional services in a bankruptcy case will all depend on the particular circumstances of each case. It will not be dependent on any other matters.

Usefulness of Lawyer Video Marketing

As a lawyer, it is very important to have a website since at one time or another you will want to use video marketing. In fact, lawyer video marketing has become a very common strategy for owners of small as well as large law firms. In order to stand out from the crowd, you need to invest in a website that can accommodate a video marketing campaign drive. The main advantage of a video especially for a lawyer is that it enables the client to get used to the lawyer’s voice. In other words, it enables the lawyer to create a connection with the client. Lawyer video marketing will work out only if it is informative as well as educational. Clients are interested in the lawyer’s experience. Therefore, you should show your mastery of topics such as bankruptcy and mediation in that video.

Video testimonials are also very important. They make your website appear credible. When a client expresses his views about your services, other people will feel that you are the kind of lawyer they need. In case your services were extremely helpful to the client in question, then you can expect to get more clients than you can even handle. In the world of internet that we are living in today, videos are very popular. According to recent studies, between 80 and 90 percent of all internet users have to watch at least one video every week. This is why video marketing is becoming a very important component of every website. Lawyer video marketing is the secret that you need in order to make your business become more successful in the future.

To many people legal services are shrouded in mystery. The moment a person sees you in a video that explains difficult terms in a simple way, you can be sure that the person will listen to what you are saying. If he is impressed, he could be your next client. You do not have to be a graduate in journalism in order to make the best use of lawyer video marketing. In any case, if you want to do everything professionally, there are many video production companies whose services you can hire at an affordable cost.

Lawyers who are candid enough to place their faces in front of the video camera and to talk for thirty minutes appear to have professional approaches in their work. Viewers like being given an opportunity to see and hear the lawyer and to be able to demystify the whole profession. When thinking about lawyer video marketing, you should convince your clients but in a very honest way. The information aspect of the video should be geared towards enlightening the clients about the services you offer, about which they might be interested.

Before engaging in lawyer video marketing, it helps a lot to know something about how the whole process is handled. You should know something about pre-production, production and post-production procedures. The pre-production stage is all about writing scripts, preparing all the items and equipment for shooting the video and organizing how the content will be uploaded on the internet. You should review all aspect of the video shoot in order to prevent mistakes from occurring.

Having an Experienced DUI Lawyer

The DUI statistics shows that in 1999, the arrest rate for DUI was 1 for every 121 licensed drivers in the US. In 2000, about 1,400 fatalities occurred in crashes involved 1260 drivers who were under the influence and most of them were repeat offenders. These numbers continues to increase every year despite the efforts from the government to discourage driving while intoxicated. As a result, there has been a sharp increase in the number of DUI /DWI lawyers over the years; therefore it is not surprising to know that nearly all attorneys can handle DUI cases.

Having legal representation means that someone will fight on your behalf even though you are guilty. The law states that you are innocent until proven in a court of law. So as long as your lawyer can prove your innocence, you have nothing to worry about. Despite that you might think legal representation is not necessary, having a lawyer will enable your sentence to get reduced. You might be able to pay lower fines, serve less time in jail, and still keep your drivers license. Having a lawyer will enable you to protect yourself.

Your lawyer is also responsible in making sure that none of rights are violated the entire time you were arrested. If you were stopped by the police without any fair reason, was tested to be under the influence and was charge with driving under the influence your lawyer can help you to get these charges dismissed, simply by proving that the police had no right to stop you in the first place, making the arrest unlawful and making the evidence collected inadmissible in court. Once your lawyer proves that you were mistreated or was not read your rights, your case will be dismissed.

A good lawyer would not only get your sentence reduced, but also the get the charges brought against you to be minimized. They will also be the one who will help you to rebuild yourself after your DUI case as these kinds of cases often tear families apart, causes people to lose their jobs and their place in society. A good lawyer will help you to get back on your feet and carry on with your life.

In order to get the best legal representative, you can use the internet as a source of information. Find out from blogs and various website about lawyers who offer the best service to their customers and do a background check on them as well. When choosing a lawyer, make sure that DUI cases are their specialization. You need a lawyer specialized in this field as they would better understand the system and the people in it. They should also have the necessary experience in handling such cases. Your lawyer should also have a clean record, free from any malpractice. Last but not least the lawyer should be a knowledgeable person as he/she will need to keep up with the current laws and regulations to make sure that you get the best out of your money.

Challenge’s of Today’s Lawyer

In the process of regulating lawyer advertising, the main question that arises is on the nature of the agency playing a regulatory role. If restrictions are not put in place, many people might misuse law as a profession and make it look like a cheap tool to be used in achieving shallow commercial interests. Many committees have been formed all over the country in order to try and address the mechanisms that should govern lawyer advertising. To begin with, the information that is given online or through print media should be as accurate as possible. Formal advisory sessions should be simplified to the extent that the truth is not distorted in order to create hype and excite prospective clients.

When it comes to advertising, many firms and businesses find it very difficult to stick to the basics. Sometimes the basics are the best sources of helpful information. Once a company creates a bandwagon, it makes its philosophy appear cheap. Luckily, for these businesses, only fierce critics seem to point out the shallow interests that inspire the advertisements. For many lawyers, the problems that arise through lawyer advertising are a matter of legal interpretations. For these professionals, in order for a written solicitation to be considered as an advertisement, it should have an element of persuasion. For some lawyers, the disclaimer that follows every advertisement is a very crucial component of lawyer advertising. As usual, lawyers are always very keen when it comes to identification of legal loopholes.

On the other hand, you need not worry so much about legal constraints to fail to benefit from lawyer advertising. Make sure that the advert communicates the intended message to the prospective client as concisely and as clearly as possible. The self-image of the lawyer should come out as clearly as possible in the advertisement. In case you are using online video advertising, you need to be as forceful as possible in your advertisement. You should leave the client with a lasting impression. The client should feel as if mysterious, verbose legal terms have been demystified.

Most of the concerns that have been raised in the past relating to advertising with the legal fraternity have been addressed in informal sessions. Most of these issues relate to ethics and matters of professionalism. In other words, experts in law prefer to talk about lawyer advertising challenges using proactive approaches that are aimed at bringing about goals that are beneficial to both the clients and lawyers. In most cases, you will realize that majority of complaints about violations in advertising by lawyers arise from fellow lawyers rather than the members of the public. In case the complaints reach awful magnitudes, they degenerate into commercial wars.

It is common to see an advertisement on the internet whereby a lawyer claims to offer free consultations to every new client. There is no problem with such an advertisement. The problem arises when later on, you read about complaints whereby a client sought consultation for two hours and at the end, he was billed with $300. In this case, the lawyer should be punished for giving out false information in order to get commercial benefits out of it.

Courtroom Careers Lawyers

Maybe everyone has some kind of preconception about lawyers, but most attorneys at law really do have fascinating jobs. They accept or are assigned to clients, and then have to use all of their creative and logical skills to come up with a convincing argument on their client’s behalf. Attorneys can defend people in criminal court, they can represent corporations, they can sue corporations on behalf of those who feel wronged by them, they can handle divorces-basically, any dispute that could erupt between two parties is a dispute which lawyers can become involved in.

Being a lawyer isn’t as glamorous as you see on television dramas. Many lawyers work for sixteen or eighteen hours a day, poring through legal records and documents pertaining to a case, searching for anything that might give them an edge in court. Life is especially hard for those who have just passed the bar exam, because competition for positions at many law firms can be incredible. Not only that, but many new lawyers are given the most legwork and the most labor-intensive research to do when they finally do get a job at a firm. Many attorneys jump around from law firm to law firm before they find a place where they really feel happy working. And a good percentage of law school graduates spend ten years or more trying to find a job; some never end up working as an attorney.

To become a lawyer, you have to have a strong work ethic and be able to get along with people; you’ll be collaborating a lot with colleagues and with clients. You also have to be tough, almost fearless. Lawyers have to stand up for their client no matter what popular opinion may believe, and they have to be tough on their opponents. As such, many lawyers make bitter and lasting enemies. In order to be admitted to the bar (that is, pass the bar exam) you pretty much have to go to a law school that the American Bar Association has granted accreditation to. And the only real way to get into law school is to achieve a good academic record as an undergraduate. Not every college or university offers a pre-law major, either. If you can’t major in pre-law it’s often a good idea as an undergraduate to major in a field that requires a lot of reading and writing, and a healthy application of logic, like English or philosophy.

The bar exam is a written test that takes two days to complete. Each state administers its own bar exam, and you’ll have to know the laws of your state inside and out in order to pass. Some states also include an oral section with their bar exam.

Many lawyers remain attorneys for their entire careers. But being a lawyer can also be good training for other professions. Some lawyers serve as judges later in their careers; others run for public office or become professors at law schools.

Personal Injury Lawyer

Have you sustained injuries for someone else’s recklessness? If you have, and if you are seeking justice you need a representative who can fight on your behalf keeping in mind the provisions of law. These representatives are known as personal injury lawyers. You will definitely find them in all cities but you need to understand certain factors before you go ahead and hire a personal injury lawyer. Tampa is a city near the coast in the US state of Florida. It is a renowned hub of all kinds of lawyers. It is not a difficult task to find lawyers in this part of the world.

Here are a few guidelines for you that can help you to find excellent personal injury lawyers. They are:

1.You should hire a lawyer or the services of a law firm that has previously dealt with cases similar to yours. Check the success rate of the lawyer. Hire the services of people only when you find they have been successful in the past cases.

2. You can also ask your friends, family or acquaintances about lawyers they know about.

3. Look for lawyers who are registered with the American Association for Justice. You are sure to find an outstanding personal injury lawyer. Tampa has law firms that are registered with the American Association for Justice.

4. Before hiring any lawyer talk to him about the payment style of the fees. Different law firms have different styles of accepting payments. Also make sure that you finalize all agreements in writing to avoid misconceptions in future.

5. Confirm that all the latest changes and updates in law are known to your personal injury lawyer. Tampa has law firms that ensure their legal professionals are updated about the recent changes in law. They are reliable and will serve you in the best possible way.

Lawyer Survey Suggests

In my national survey of lawyers, lawyers speak about the kinds of unrealistic client expectations or misperceptions they have encountered when clients approach or consult with them. One such unrealistic client expectation or misperception falls into the category of “what lawyers should be paid, when, and if they should be paid at all for the services they provide.”

The lawyers’ general feeling is the prospect or client’s view of lawyers and their role has been distorted by Hollywood and 50 years of TV law heroes. Those clients that do not have contact with lawyers regularly, and/or their only contact with them is when the are in trouble, are likely to have more misperceptions about lawyers and what they do and can do for their fees. Many seem to assume that fees should be the same as, or similar to, what a TV client paid “Perry Mason” or to other TV lawyers, for example: that is, nothing. Law-oriented entertainment programs, which are often the resource for many clients’ beliefs about lawyers and the law, rarely or never discuss fees. From a practical standpoint, doing so would be a distraction to the viewer and take away from the focus, action, and flow of the story.

Clients often believe that the lowest quoted price (a low-ball estimate) is the way to go. They do not want to pay what are considered the average retainers or fees that are deemed appropriate within the profession. Consequently, they may be shocked because they are comparing lawyer fees to the cost of some non-specific-problem software or fill-in forms that can be purchased at the local office store. They also do not see why they should pay for something the lawyer “already knows” since that information is supposed to be something they should already know as part of their being a lawyer. After all, if the lawyer does not have to spend hours researching the caselaw about the problem and can just print off a form on their computer, why should the client have to pay for it.

There was an overriding feeling that lawyers’ fees should not be set. That is, they should be free in some cases and flexible in others. Specifically, the client seems to feel that fees should depend upon the client’s case, circumstances, and ability to pay. The lawyer should charge certain clients less according to some sliding scale because of the type of case it is or the client has a particular personal problem or does not have much money. However, even those who make a fair amount of money to cover the fees sometimes seem unable to understand why the lawyer should want a retainer and be paid “appropriate fees for their services.”

There is also the expectation that the lawyer will not bill for time spent researching the case, making phone calls, or writing letters on the client’s behalf. The idea of a lawyer billing for time spent waiting in court also seems out of the question. There are clients who may not want to pay a lawyer’s fees because the client is unhappy with their legally-binding outcomes, even if these outcomes are the result of a negotiation or compromise to which the client has agreed.

This lawyers’ survey also suggests that there are unrealistic client expectations and misperceptions about what lawyers do, can do, and should do as well as what the clients can expect to achieve as a result of hiring a lawyer. This will be discussed further in other articles.

Know Before You Hire A Lawyer

If you find a need to hire a lawyer, there are a few things you should always take into consideration before making a decision on which lawyer to hire.

You should know if the lawyer has had any complaints made about him or his techniques as well as finding out about cases he or she may have had difficulties with in the past. One way to verify if there are any complaints about the lawyer would be to check with your states Bar Association. The Bar Association is the organization that keeps track of lawyers and handles complaints about lawyers.

You can look up your local Bar Associations contact information in your local yellow pages, or by contacting librarians at local law libraries in your area to get the address. Once you have the mailing address for the Bar Association, you should send a polite letter inquiring as to whether the lawyer you are seeking information about has any complaints on file or not. The Bar Association will not tell you what the complaints were for if there are any on file, they will only tell you if any have been filed.

Once you have a record of any (or no) complaints, you should then verify how long the lawyer has been practicing law. If the lawyer has 3 complaints and has only been practicing law for 6 months, then you should definitely locate another lawyer. Yet if the lawyer has 3 complaints in 30 years, that’s a very good record which is an indication of a very good lawyer.

If your case is going to trial, you will also need to verify how much experience the lawyer has in trial court. Many cases never end up in court in front of a Judge or jury, so some lawyers never have a need to appear in court. If your case seems to be one that will most likely end up in court, then you need to make sure that the lawyer you are looking to hire has plenty of trial experience before a Judge and jury. If the lawyer does not have adequate experience, then you may wish to seek another lawyer to hire.

You should also ask the lawyer about the success rate of his cases. If he has handled 100 cases and has won 80 of them, then 80% would be the lawyer’s success rate. A lawyer will usually say that some cases did not require “winning” or “losing”, and that all that those cases required was a happy client once the case was resolved. If the lawyer makes a statement like this, then you have found an intelligent attorney who understands exactly what his or her clients need him or her to do. If he has few or no bar complaints and has been practicing law for several years (and if he or she has trial experience if you plan to go to trial) then you have probably found the perfect lawyer to handle your case.

Child Custody Lawyers

Do you know how to find the best child custody lawyers Los Angeles that will be good enough to win your custody case? Make sure you know where to look and what to look for or you may end up with an attorney who may not have your best interest at heart.

How To Find Information on Child Custody Attorneys In L.A.

Use the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory.

This set lists almost 800,000 lawyers.

From Martindale-Hubbell you can get:

o Date of birth.

o Undergraduate and law school degree.

o Year of admission to practice.

o Bar association membership.

o Certification.

o Peer rating.

Two pieces of information are especially valuable. The year of admission to the bar says how long the lawyer has been practicing. The peer rating will tell you what other lawyers think of their colleague. These are confidential ratings, and they can be useful.
Peer rating is divided into legal ability and general recommendation. Legal ability “takes into consideration experience, nature of practice, and qualifications relevant to the profession.” Legal ability ranges from “A” to “C.” General recommendation evaluates, “faithful adherence to professional standards of conduct and ethics of the legal profession, professional reliability and diligence, and standards relevant to the attorney’s discharge of his or her professional responsibilities.” The only general recommendation rating is “V.” About 30% of the lawyers score at the top: A-V.

The directory is organized by city and state, so you’ll need to know the city the attorney practices in.

To read a bound copy, try:

o Public library.

o Courthouse law library.

o Law department in a large corporation.

How Do You Find Qualified Child Custody Lawyers Los Angeles?

Publicity

Another way to find a lawyer is by reading and watching the news. News stories often contain the names of the lawyers involved in a local case, or some other useful quote by a lawyer. If the legal matter is similar to yours, you can contact the lawyer. Unfortunately, many news stories about lawyers are not really news, but are reprints of press releases put out by a public relations firm paid by the lawyer to get his or her name in the paper. This means that some of these lawyers want only high-profile cases, and if yours is not high-profile, they may pass your work on to an assistant.

Legal Plans

Sometimes you can find a lawyer by signing up for legal insurance or a legal plan. These are programs offered by employers, labor unions, credit unions, credit card companies, and so on, that allow you to pay a small membership fee in exchange for a basic amount of legal service. If you need additional legal work, you’ll have to pay more. A legal plan may be a bargain if it offers the services you need. Otherwise, you must use the plan lawyers, and they may not always be as good as you want.

Custody Support Groups

You can also find a lawyer through a support group. Some support groups help victims of domestic violence, while other groups help people deal with drug or alcohol abuse.

Examples of support groups include:

o Parents Anonymous

o Batterers Anonymous

o Parents Without Partners

To find a child custody lawyers Los Angeles group, look in the phone book under community groups, crisis intervention services, or family services.
